The Sustainable Program for HIV Epidemic Control and Equitable Service Delivery (SPEED) Project in Delta is 5 years (November 1, 2022 – September 29, 2027) project funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a sub-recipient to Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) on the SPEED project.
The Strategic HIV/AIDS and TB Response Program Task Order 2 (SHARP TO2) is the follow on to SIDHAS project in Bayelsa, Edo and Lagos States funded by PEPFAR through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Accelerating Hypertension-HIV care and treatment (AHHCT) in Primary Health Care is a 6months, 88-million-naira project funded by Right to Save Lives (RTSL). The project is implemented in Akwa Ibom state where AHNi is implementing the EpiC USAID/PEPFAR funded project. AHHCT is implemented in 30 health facilities in 10 LGAs of Akwa Ibom State. The project is designed to integrate hypertension screening and management services into HIV care and treatment in these facilities.
September 2021 — An estimated 1.9 million people are living with HIV in Nigeria, the second-highest number globally. In September 2011, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded FHI 360 the Strengthening Integrated Delivery of HIV/AIDS Services (SIDHAS) project to help address this issue by building the country’s capacity to deliver high-quality, comprehensive prevention, treatment and services. This brief gives an overview of the project, its approach and the results of the 10-year effort.
