Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health interventions, education and economic initiatives in Nigeria. AHNi is an allied organization to Family Health International (FHI 360) with co-existing and mutually supportive interest in advancing the collective goals of the people and communities served. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

FRONT DESK INTERN:  The Front Desk Intern will provide secretarial and administrative support to AHNi staff and clients. S/he is responsible for:

  • Overseeing and supervising the processing of mail dispatch/distribution, telephone directory, and administrative and support services to all departments/units as required.
  • Coordinating and planning bookings of meeting and training rooms by internal and external users. Ensuring that all internal and external meeting organizers are complying with AHNI’s Guidelines for meetings/workshops.
  • Overseeing the cleaning of the office building daily and ensuring that the cleaning contractor is adhering to specified cleaning standards.
  • Contributing to planning, coordination, and allocation of office space in consultation with relevant parties.
  • Planning and organizing the ordering and stocking of office supplies such as stationery, drinking water, and other utilities to support office operations.
  • Coordinating and ensuring effective and smooth management of the car parking space at the Head Office.
  • Assisting in the provision of logistic support for workshops and trainings.
  • Recording minutes of staff meetings and circulating them amongst the staff.
  • Assisting with the production of presentation materials for staff members.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:

  • A University degree or recognized equivalent or HND with minimum of 3-5 years administrative experience.
  • Familiarity with international or local NGOs is an advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical values at all times.
  • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors and recipients of assistance.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office products.
