Yekeen Taoheed Akinkunmi (MBA, BSc, FCA, ACTI, CPFA) is a Professional Accountant/Compliance Specialist with over 18 years of work experience in Internal Audit and Assurance, Risk Management and Financial Management and Budgeting, Donors’ Grant Management, and Counter Fraud acquired through working with International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs).
Akinkunmi is currently Compliance Director with AHNi from August 2022 till date. He has directly worked and managed different humanitarian and development projects funded by reputable international donor organizations namely USAID, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM), Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) formerly DFID, European Union (EU) – ECHO, E-WASH, DEVCO, etc, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), UNFPA, World Food Programme (WFP), Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany)-BMZ, MFA, Finland, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), German Foreign Federal Office (GFFO), Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF).
Akinkunmi served as the pioneer Country Internal Auditor of Plan International Nigeria from 2018 – 2022 and established a functional Internal Audit and Risk Management Department for the organization. Akinkunmi also served as System Enhancement Accountant under AHNi/FHI360 GF HIV Impact Project from 2017 to 2018 and Internal Auditor with Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) from 2010 to 2017 on the Global fund HIV and TB Project.
Akinkunmi is a professional trainer and has successfully carried out a series of capacity-building training on donor regulations and compliance processes and procedures to staff and implementing partners/sub-awardees in about 25 States in Nigeria.
