The Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic (ACE) Cluster 5 is a 5years project funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with a period of performance from March 22, 2022, to February 28, 2027. The project is being implemented in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states and aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of high-impact, evidence-based HIV/AIDS interventions to meet Nigeria’s state/LGA-specific goals and objectives.
The project is a consortium of four partners led by Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS) and has Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi), Family Health International (FHI360), and Howard University are other partners implementing in Akwa Ibom State. The consortium in collaboration with the State Government, civil society, and private sector provides technical assistance and program support to 101 health facilities and several communities across 21 Local Government Areas (LGA). The objective of the project includes Objective 1: Increased Resiliency, Responsiveness, and Accountability of the Health System, Objective 2: Increased uptake and retention of HIV/AIDS/TB services, Objective 3: Improved Access and Provision of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment Services within Primary Health Care Interventions.
