Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health interventions, education, and economic initiatives in Nigeria. To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

PROGRAM OFFICER: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Officer to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of ACE-1 project activities across the state. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality delivery, financial accountability, and effective stakeholder engagement in line with donor expectations and project targets. Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing monthly and quarterly work plans, preparing activity memos, and ensuring at least 90% of planned activities are executed within approved timelines and budgets. The Program Officer will conduct monthly joint field monitoring visits, generate actionable reports, and oversee RFI implementation, cluster-level documentation, and archiving. Additionally, the role involves tracking and reviewing program expenditures, initiating corrective actions for deviations beyond ±10%, and submitting monthly pipeline and expenditure analysis reports. The candidate will maintain up-to-date monitoring checklists and budget tracking tools, facilitate advocacy and coordination meetings with key stakeholders, and produce a monthly stakeholder bulletin. Accurate and timely reporting is essential, including monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports, as well as maintaining organized electronic archives of all project documentation. The Program Officer will also provide HR management support by updating the State Ad hoc Personnel database and ensuring completeness and accuracy.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in public health, project management, business administration or a recognized equivalent with 3-5 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Or MS/MA degree in public health, project management, business administration or a recognized equivalent with 2-3 years relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
