Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health programs, education, research, and livelihoods initiatives in Nigeria. USAID funded Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria (ACE) is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

TECHNICAL OFFICER – SBCC: The Technical Officer -SBCC will provide support in the implementation of the overall communications strategy of AHNi with the Nigerian government and other local and international decision makers, donors, media, partners and key stakeholders in the designated state. S/He will participate in actively managing relationships for AHNi with key stakeholders especially in communicating AHNi strategies on partnership and sustainability of USAID funded public health interventions in the designated state with special emphasis on comprehensive HIV/TB programs. S/He will support in the communication of key messages, program priorities, capabilities and achievements of ACE in public health with special emphasis on HIV/TB programs in the designated state. S/He will contribute to strategic behavior change communications in all relevant program areas.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • BS/BA in Communication or related field and 5-7 years relevant experience in international development programs or 3-5 years supervisory experience with MS/MA in Communication or any related field.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing large and complex SBC/BCC activities in a donor (USAID) funded national health-focused project.
  • Professional membership of relevant professional bodies such as APCON, NIPR and NIM will be an added advantage.
