Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health interventions, education and economic initiatives in Nigeria. AHNi is an allied organization to Family Health International (FHI360) with co-existing and mutually supportive interest in advancing the collective goals of the people and communities served. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT-PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES: Will work within a multidisciplinary team in the OSS according to the Case management, and biopsychosocial approach, conduct screening and assessment of beneficiaries and develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans according to their needs. Provide psychoeducation to beneficiaries and their families, psychological support and counselling services to beneficiaries and their families and provide family support when needed. He/she will facilitate group therapy and support group sessions in coordination with the multidisciplinary team, conduct home visits to provide further psycho-social support when needed and organize community rehabilitation and awareness activities for beneficiaries and their families in coordination with the multidisciplinary team. He/she will also attend and contribute to the weekly clinical supervision meetings, ensure the complete and updated filing of beneficiary information, including follow-up visits and referrals.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:

  • B.SC in Clinical Psychology with 3 to 5 years post-NYSC, with at least 3 years of progressive experience providing psychological services to PLHIVs in Nigeria. 
  • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience working with KP and facilitating technical trainings.
  • Excellent ability to communicate and maintain diplomatic and productive relations with the team; resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast changing and challenging environment.
  • Good knowledge of Psychological Case Management of HIV patience, especially among KP.
  • Ability to multitask with knowledge of various program areas and work with discretion and minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of National HIV/AIDS M&E tools.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs is highly desirable.
