Required services: Certified trainers to provide training services to the Compliance Unit staff of Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi).

Location: Nigeria

Proposed dates:  March to May 2023.

Commencement Date: March 27th, 2023.

Background

Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting global health and economic initiatives in Nigeria. It was established as an affiliate of the Family Health International (FHI 360) to sustain FHI 360’s achievements in strengthening indigenous organizational capacity in Nigeria. AHNi has progressed into an allied organization to FHI 360 since 2019. AHNi was registered as an organization in Nigeria in 2009 with its headquarter in Abuja, and presence in the six geopolitical regions of Nigeria.  It aims to provide technical assistance to the government and people of Nigeria in the implementation of public health and development programs. AHNi implements projects in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, health systems strengthening, sexual and reproductive health/family planning and humanitarian projects for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees in protection, health, and nutrition. AHNi also offers technical assistance and service delivery in integrated maternal, neonatal and child health (IMNCH), monitoring and evaluation (M&E), laboratory support, behavior change communication (BCC), policy and legislation, gender/key populations, public-private partnership (PPP), and grants management.

Description/Purpose of the training

AHNi is looking to engage the services of a team of certified trainers with at least 2 facilitators, with the experience of training staff in the developmental sector on project management to deliver a 5-day face-to-face training for members of the compliance/audit unit on project management, monitoring and risk identification across all projects stages.

The Compliance Unit staff consists of a team of experts and professionals who work to support the fulfillment of the organization’s vision and mission.

Objectives of the training:

The objective of the project management training and certification program to is to help the team gain an understanding of project management, project life cycle, project planning and quality assurance expectations across an entire project lifecycle. The training should embed practical case studies that depicts how to identify risks in program management, monitoring and review of expected project deliverables and aligning project deliverables to meet stakeholder expectations.

Specific deliverables:

The project management training content should cover the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of project management
  • Project identification and design
  • Project setup
  • Project planning
  • Project scope management
  • Planning project procurement
  • Project implementation
  • Project closure
  • Process life cycle, phases and process groups
  • Project manager roles
  • Agile and hybrid project methodologies
  • Project scope, schedule, cost, resource, quality and risk management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Use of MS projects and other relevant project management software
  • Identification and monitoring of project deliverables and lapses across project stages and life cycle.

The course content should be broad with focus on project management within humanitarian/ developmental sector, with relatable real-time case studies.

Qualification

  • The lead facilitator must be Project Management Certified Professional (PMP) to deliver this course.
  • Experience in training staff within the humanitarian/developmental sector and delivering course content via face-to-face mode.
  • Fluency in English language is required.
  • Possibility of registering the staff to write the PMP certification exam.
  • The division of days within the facilitators should be included in the written proposal. The course will be fully delivered in English.
